Xiaomi 17 Series: The new flagship smartphone lineup is setting itself up to be called the Xiaomi 17 Series, set to be launched in China on September 30, 2025. The series will be three phones strong: the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. The line will be a successor to the Xiaomi 15 series last year that would otherwise have skipped the number 16.
Xiaomi 17 Series Performance Details
One of the biggest talking points for the Xiaomi 17 Series is Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset integration. These would likely be the first smartphones powered by the new processor and promise faster performance, better power efficiency, and improved AI capabilities.
The phones would further run Xiaomi’s brand-new HyperOS 3 built on Android 16, which should bring a refreshing new UI experience from features such as Xiaomi Super Island for multitasking and Liquid Glass UI with frosted blur effects and glossy icons.
Xiaomi 17 Series Attractive Design
A big design statement will come with the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max, courtesy of the Magic Back Screen. This secondary display sits inside the rear camera module and can be used for call notifications, music controls, and some widgets. The display offers both a futuristic look and future-forward utility.
Such is the rumored power of the Xiaomi 17 Pro with a 6.3-inch LTPO display that it will probably have a 120Hz refresh rate and super-thin 1.1mm bezels, promising smooth and immersive viewing experiences that are great for gaming and consuming media.
DSLR and Powerful Camera Setup
For the Xiaomi 17 Series camera specs, the Pro models are expected to feature a triple rear camera setup with each having 50MP sensors for wide, telephoto with up to 5x optical zoom, and ultrawide. The cameras are expected to be Leica-branded, thus continuing Xiaomi’s partnership with the famed photography company.
Xiaomi 17 Series Battery & Build Quality
Xiaomi will put great emphasis on battery life. The Xiaomi 17 Pro could be a beast, with its 6,300mAh battery and 100W wired charging. So, expect good-lasting power and very fast charging. Also, the build of this device may be rated IP69, meaning it will have very high resistance to dust and water.
